Why is 'online' so challenging these days? Relentless sponsored results, popups and so much more. Today, 9th December 2025, I opened up my writing desk and wrote; pen on paper. It was a wonderful decompression, to listen to Erik Satie, drink coffee, and write. Apparently as an artist, the online presence is essential; I just don't know anymore. Sure, I have my website, and a YouTube channel with no content, but there is no social media in my life, and I can't even market myself the way I used to. And yet, I am seen and noticed and I have customers. I don't even do exhibitions anymore, and yet I am seen and noticed. I believe it was Cal Newport who said something like, "do the work that can't be ignored." I would take that a step further and say, "live the life that can't be ignored.""
Live authentically and you will be seen and noticed, and watch out for those blissful moments of orchestrated serendipity; if you know, you know.
