Create

Why do we do what we do? I was having a lovely chat with a very dear friend, and there are days when we wonder why we do what we do. She creates beautiful spaces, impeccable art and nurtures an atmosphere of creativity, enrichment, and a locale for peaceful reflection in the midst of an environment of chaos. And yet, there are days when nobody cares. From disregard to blatant disrespect, we see and experience what casting pearls before swine really means. So, we return to our roots and create because we are compelled to do so by that which gives us the spark in the first place.

I started off in deep isolation writing and creating art, and then, as it expanded into a business, I incorporated more community based notions and directions. I collaborated, I helped, I supported; but now I just want to go into my interior castle and paint again; paint, because I am compelled to. “Why do we bother?” is a question that makes us reflect and then create. My friend has impeccable work and actively and consistently does the deep work; work that cannot be ignored.

So now we simply create, and wait for that work to draw the appreciative individual into its orbit. We don't need the ‘likes’, the ‘hearts’, the ‘retweets’ or the ‘share with-s’; we engage with the creative Cause and simply watch the orchestration.
